Hey guys, I have an LG fridge that I bought about 7 years ago. Over the past few weeks, I've noticed that it's gotten significantly louder than it used to be. I took a closer look and it seems like the noise is coming from the compressor, which is really loud. I've already tried tightening the screws around the compressor, leveling the fridge, and making sure it has enough space behind it for ventilation, but nothing has helped. I've also noticed that the compressor seems to be running almost constantly. The noise is honestly driving me insane at this point. 😅 Is it normal for a compressor to be this loud, or could mine be starting to fail? Is that a linear compressor model? Models of that age are known to have an almost guaranteed failure of the compressor. I think LG warranty the compressor (but not labour) for 10 years. I’d suggest planning somewhere to move your food to for when it fails completely.
