Should I call structural engineer for foundation (crawlspace) inspection?

I want someone who is expert. not just a contractor. I estimate $500-1k cost our house is 40yrs old. one year prior to us moving in it wasn’t really occupied and I don’t think AC was running in the SouthEast Humid weather. regardless, many of our doors don’t latch or shut all the way. furthermore, after installing new LVP, some areas on first floor aren’t completely level near the bathroom. we aren’t sure if the above is due to settling, foundation issues, or other explanations (humidity, bad framing, previous leaks in bathroom floor) before going and fixing the above things individually, we wanted to get an expert opinion on foundation if it is the cause or might get worse.

Call a foundation company
A foundation company is going to send a salesman who is going to scare you into very expensive products. An engineer has a professional license that rides on the quality of the report that they’ll provide you for the $500-1000 window OP is looking at spending on this. Take the engineers report to 3 or more foundation companies for quotes and have the engineer verify their work.
I found an independent guy who does for $350. He said the same. Civil engineer degree who is licensed and 30+ years. He talked over the phone for 20min about everything and said exactly as you did: do not go to foundation company as they may just want your money and you likely don’t need anything major. He said if I do need work, I take his report to a company to do it
