Thinking about how people can best use LLMs for SEO - wondering why I'm not seeing any SERP report tools? What is a SERP Report? SERP tools are tools that report your rank position in search engines - effectively running a query and then tracking the rank position for them and creating daily reports = a "SERP Report" How would it work? User populates a list of keywords, e.g. "SEO in NYC" or "Plumber in Ohio" for their given domain (or clients domain etc). You execute a query against a search engine and track what the rank position. So if the domain is in position 5, then you record 5 for today. If its not in the top 100 (this where num=100 comes from) then you note - or 0 Each day you plot the average = average Rank position Where do you get the data? A lot of the big tool providers use 3rd party scrapers like SERPAPI - I propose that this could be done using GSC. you could also use AI to filter/collate similar sounding or related words/typos Market Analysis there are about 10-20 such commercial providers that provide this starting at about $39-99 pm These include: SEMRush Moz Ahrefs Majestic etc I think this would be something MILLIONS of SEOs would want to see? Anyone else think this is worth trying?

Yeah it is a tool but does what you mentioned. Are you thinking to build something like live artifiact in Claude which keeps updating itself?

Define what you mean by SERP reporting tools. You can use a tool like Firecrawl to summarize and scrape top content of the SERP on specific search terms. Send that data to kan LLM and have it analyze whatever you're looking for. Don't know if it's something like this you're looking for? I started using Firecrawl on a project for pSEO, though never managed to finish my project. But Firecrawl is an awesome tool to scrape the top SERP results, which I used as a content gap analysis, as part of the pSEO project.
That's actually exactly what we're working on for our V2.0. Because yes internally we do the same process with quick sketch automations (and the data gathering services you mentionned) that we'd like to polish and transform into something everyone can use. Goal is to be able to plug your ahrefs, semrush, gsc key (...) and centralize all this data into a clear view for different purposes (ahrefs and semrush for competitor analysis, gsc for personal tracking, ...). And then on top of that as you describe a SERP report providing extra data straight from real SERPs. One thing we're experimenting with is "peer-to-peer SERP data gathering". This would allow the gathering to not just come from your own "region/location" and "google profile" but overtime gathering SERP results across continents and varied profile. This is still very much in R&D but we'll post about it as results start flowing in with our initial testers.
I created an internal SEO tool for my business. It does something similar but I don't have daily reports. I use weekly reports as it's a fresh site with no authority.
I feel like a lot of new people to SEO go through at least 6 months of myths or misconceptions before realising what SEO actually is day-to-day. They're more focused on building content and fixing technical stuff in the hopes that they will rank higher so overlook SERP tracking as something important. SERP tracking for them is looking at their overall clicks and not on a page by page basis on a daily/weekly basis.
