Window - replace sill or liquid wood
Dog chewed the window sill, but only about a half inch deep. We would still need a good amount of liquid wood to cover it, so I'm wondering... At what point is liquid wood not sufficient and we should just get a replacement piece of wood?

Is the dog not just going to chew it again?
He chewed it about two years ago and hasn't since. I'd like to think he got the idea of no chewing.
KwikWood epoxy putty.
It's mostly about whichever is easier at the current state.
I'd do an epoxy fill and paint it
OMG, my dog did this too! A few years ago when she was still a puppy, but I haven't fixed it yet because she also chew the sheetrock around the same window casing. Mine was pretty much the entire length of the sill so I'm going to have to replace it. If it's just one spot try liquid wood first, can't hurt. My house is from the 70s and it looks like I'll have to custom up the sill with a router to match the others.
If you're window isnt fully cased in with trim probably quicker and easier to just replace the sill.
