Does anyone else get this on their chest and back? [acne]

I have had this probably since my teens, but it’s gotten worse this last year or so (in my early 30s). I do have rosacea and this is very similar, but I don’t know for sure? I told my dermatologist, but he didn’t even look and gave me a sulfacetamide 8% body…

I have had this probably since my teens, but it’s gotten worse this last year or so (in my early 30s). I do have rosacea and this is very similar, but I don’t know for sure? I told my dermatologist, but he didn’t even look and gave me a sulfacetamide 8% body wash. I used the body wash for 2 months and saw an increase in skin colored and red bumps on my chest, back, and upper arms, so I discontinued it and messaged him. He then suggested a month of doxy, but with it being summer and I am so fair skinned with 2 kids I told him I just can’t do it right now because doxy makes me SO sensitive to the sun it’s just not the time for it. I would do it later in the fall maybe so it’s not as big of an issue! But in the mean time, does anyone have any suggestions? I am so tired of high neck tops and feeling weird if my upper back is showing:( I recently tried adding the salicylic acid & LHA body wash by Minimalist, but it’s done nothing for this.

Oh sorry leave it on (like conditioner) for awhile but yes rinse it before getting out!

also double cleanse the sunscreen off before going to sleep.

I get this! Here’s what I do that’s helped: - head and shoulders clinical shampoo as body wash in the shower. Leave it on for at least 5 mins - wiping off that area in the morning and midday and applying salicylic acid spray after wiping (I think sweat collects especially in the heat and can cause this) - benzoyl peroxide at night and spot treat with Paula’s choice BHA 9 on the skin colored bumps - sunscreen ALWAYS Edit: my chest area looking spotty is compounded by also having “Irish neck” poikiloderma of civatte I think it’s called… anyway, I am mid 30s and was able to get rid of the bumps with the BHA 9 and reverse some of the brown spots with vitamin C, retinol, and Paula’s choice discoloration serum. I think the OPs looks like my fungal acne which the above regimen I posted cleared up for me!

You're saying don't rinse off head and shoulders before stepping out? The conditioner version might work better for that purpose

my chest looked like yours a couple of months ago and pan oxyl in the shower helped me a lot. i let it sit while i shave or use other body care products. make sure always apply lotion after!! i love gold bond.

Hi there, It seems like you may be looking for information about rosacea. Have you read our rosacea wiki? I do get one or twice every now and then but they just go by themselves, now I'm worried if I should do something about it
