Using an App to Monitor File System Changes for Uninstalling Applications

I was wondering if anyone has experience using an app to monitor file system changes for the purpose of uninstalling applications, I found a tool called FSMonitor, which seems to do that. I'm not entirely sure how it works, but I assume it tracks which application created each file, allowing you to locate all files created by that app and completely uninstall it.

Need brief

User needs a tool that thoroughly removes all leftover files after app uninstallation, as existing tools leave extra files.

[Update] I posted BetterStage here 3 months ago, here's how it looks like 45 updates later.

About 3 months ago I posted BetterStage here. The honest feedback was: "looks interested, but it needed more work", and I made the comparisons sound like BetterStage was the only way. Fair on all counts. There are a lot of window managers / workspace managers that are great for a lot of people, at the end of the day it's down to personal taste and preference. I'm not here to pretend otherwise. Edit: Thank you all for

[OS] Rilmazafone: a WYSIWYG designer for DMG installers. What you draw is what mounts

By the way, Rilmazafone is used to make the DMG for Rilmazafone Problem: when I started developing macOS applications, I realized that there is no easy solution for making DMG files. Sure, there are plenty of CLI tools, but they require you to rebuild and check that your inputs are correct, they have tons of parameters that you need a manual to understand. .DS_Store is an old format with no documentation. Create Custom Symbols v3.0 Released – Convert Any SVG into a Custom SF Symbol for Xcode

This tool can convert any SVG icon into custom SF Symbols. The generated files can be directly imported into Xcode and used in UIKit and SwiftUI projects. Problem: Manually creating custom SF Symbols is tedious and error-prone. Developers need to manually create compatible templates, adjust vector paths, and repeatedly ensure that icons render properly in Xcode, resulting in extremely low development efficiency. Comp

macOS 27 Golden Gate May Become the End of the Golden Era for Mac Apps

I have been a C++ developer for over a decade, and while learning Objective-C I was happy to find out that Xcode gives this awesome possibility to support much older macOS versions with minimal effort while still using a modern SDK. Many users keep older Macs for years. Some of those Macs cannot be updated because Apple drops hardware support. So being able to support old macOS versions is not just some legacy develo

Review/Critique: Hermes Desktop

Hermes Desktop TL;DR at bottom I was scrolling through my GitHub feed a couple days ago and stumbled upon a cool-looking OSS tool called Hermes. It's marketed as "The agent that grows with you." I made a MacOS App to Localize my other Apps

I built AppUFO.app to Localise iOS Apps with AI. It translates the xcstrings file from Xcode in a few seconds. Problem Some weeks ago I went to localize one of my Apps. This was my first time localizing an iOS App. I quickly realised how long the process takes (3days+) & how expensive it is ($100+ for each language). This is not acceptable in 2026 with all the AI. So instead of working on that app, I took a tangent a

Prototyping a new pane UI for my terminal app - WDYT?

I'm prototyping a new interaction for a terminal app I plan to build. The idea is to keep the number of visible terminal panes limited, but give the pane management a bit more macOS flare. Panes can be rearranged via drag and drop, minimized, resized, and auto-resized. I would love to hear whether this kind of UI clicks for you or feels like overkill. Honest reactions welcome.
