AutoMailSender — drop a file and it's emailed automatically to preset people (native macOS)

完整上下文原始内容 · Reddit

I'm the developer. I kept emailing the same files to the same people every day (receipts to my accountant, shoots to clients, docs to family) and got tired of opening Mail and re-addressing every time. So I built AutoMailSender. You set up your email + recipients once, then: Drop a file → it's emailed to whoever you pick. No compose window. Folder routing: drop into a watched folder → it auto-sends to the linked person. Hands-off. Quick Drop tab on the screen edge to send from any app. Blocked types (.exe etc.) get wrapped in a password-protected ZIP so they arrive. Native Swift, 1.7 MB. Privacy-first: no cloud, no tracking, credentials in the macOS Keychain, files go straight to your provider. Works with Gmail/Outlook/iCloud/Yahoo/custom SMTP. Free for your first 200 emails, then a one-time €9.99 (no subscription). App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6754530297 Honest feedback very welcome — especially which repetitive send you'd automate.

I have done something like this with Automator but this is much nicer. Nice work.

When a user drops a file, does the app automatically use a default email subject and body (like "Sending [Filename]"), or can they customize a specific text template for each individual recipient/folder? I'm curious about this because I'm too lazy to send or add context when sending emails to my freinds it might be dropped into their spam so they won't see it.

Never thought about that, but it's a simpel fix. Now i made it like this, for every receiving adres the same. Noted!

Fun idea. It is email focused for now (plain SMTP), but Telegram delivery is worth a look. Noted!

This is amazing and man, would be amazing to use in accounting when mailing the same stuff to all the clients lol. Bad luck, office uses Windows. Still might use this! Would it be possible to also have a standard text in it (that we can edit)?

Thanks! Yes, there is an editable subject and message, and the next update adds per recipient and per folder templates with simple formatting. Mac only for now though, sorry about the Windows office.

The idea is cool but would it be possible that it connects or uses my apple mail directly, since I have my company Email Accounts and my private once, that I can use multiple sender accounts, or was I just not able to find it in the app?

u/MistiqueJacque楼主回复

It does not use Apple Mail itself, it sends over SMTP with the account you set up. Multiple sender accounts is not in there yet, so you did not miss it. I will put it on the list.

a dropadoo comparison would have been nice. its standard post netiquette here to do that.

Fair point. I had not used Dropadoo and didn't know it existence, I will take a look and add a comparison. Thanks for the nudge.

After you made dropadoo I swear I’ve seen so many more apps with the same core feature. You were first phunk! Edit: clarification

Man that’s really smart, wondering if you are considering to extend features. E.g. I’m a dev and I would love an easy tool to handle users mail to interact easily with them. Maybe there are some tool already but maybe you may use your skills in this sector to do it! Congratulations!

Thanks, glad you like it! Right now it is focused on the outbound side: you drop a file and it goes out, there is no inbox or replies. What you describe is more of an incoming and conversation tool, which is a different direction, but a fun one. I will keep it in mind. Appreciate the idea and the kind words! Great niche soliution. You should do a quick promo to agencies and maybe lawyers. I can see this picking up fast there

u/MistiqueJacque楼主回复

Thanks! Agencies and Lawyers are exactly the kind of repeat sending this is built for, so that is a great tip. Honestly that is why I built it in the first place. For my own admin I kept doing the same dance: export from my accounting program, open my email, attach the file, hit send, over and over. Now I just save the file into a watched folder and it sends itself. That little annoyance turned into the whole app 😄

I've had the exact same idea and am working on something similar in concept but also very different more aimed at large files and sending files between mobile and desktops. But email is what inspired me as I also kept on doing this, my app is months away though.

Cool project! Plenty of room for both!:) Good luck with it!

Do sent mails automatically appear as sent in Apple Mail (with the proper accounts set up)? No BCCs but separate mails? No accompanying text possible?

u/FoxOnTheRunNow

this should support telegram and slack somehow ! (maybe whatsapp too), then you will get lots of clients man! (if these are possible)
