Here's what's new: Auto-translation during caption generation! You can now translate your videos at the same moment the captions are generated using either the Google AI model or Apple Translate. By the way, Apple Translate is surprisingly fast and accurate (the only downside is the limited number of supported languages). Translate existing captions in your projects. Local, fast translations can be applied to previously added subtitles as well. New transcription model: NVIDIA Parakeet v3. It is blazingly fast and accurate, while also consuming less RAM and storage. Recommended for European languages. Quick edit mode added. No, Google Gemma model is used. You just download it from Apple servers (when choosing in the app) and use locally without limits

The main idea is simple: apps from the App Store charge monthly or weekly for captions generation, my app does not 🙂 I also concentrate a lot on video editor usability (specifically, making caption editing on any device as simple as possible), but the whole "justification of existence" for my app is its pricing and the "own forever" idea
hey just a couple ideas: - add more fonts - add more effects (how text appear/disappear) - add glyphs/images with effects (that can come in and go at any given point) btw pretty nice as an iOS app
You can currently choose any font that is installed on your device in the fonts list + add a new one right there. Regarding glyphs effects that go at any given point – not sure I understood
This looks useful, especially the local model angle. One workflow question: can it export standard subtitle files like SRT/VTT/ASS separately from the rendered video? For longer videos, I often prefer generating captions in one tool, doing text cleanup, then bringing the subtitles into Final Cut/DaVinci/Premiere instead of burning them in immediately. If round-tripping is smooth, that would be a big differentiator from the social-video-only caption apps.
Yes, .srt export is available – as well as import Although the app is not intended to compete with professional video editing software, I believe adding at least VTT is more than feasible – noted ✅
the Parakeet v3 addition is a big deal. that model is genuinely fast and the accuracy on English is hard to beat at this size. the subscription pricing in this category is absurd when the underlying models are free to run locally. $5.99 lifetime for something that actually works offline is exactly how it should be priced.
