We just launched Beat One - a new music sequencer for Mac

Thanks! We’re actually thinking about an iOS/iPadOS version. By the way, we already have Audio One for iPad - a full audio editor and Mix One, which is more of a fun little app with pads to play around with and make some noise 😄 But bringing the Beat One workflow to iPad is definitely something we’re considering. How does it compare to Apple’s free Garageband?
Fair question! We’re definitely not trying to claim we can replace GarageBand - it’s a great free app. One of the main differences is the workflow: Beat One is more sequencer-first, with a dedicated Step Sequencer on Mac, alongside Piano Roll, audio & MIDI tracks, and mixing in one focused workspace. We’re also at a very early stage and actively shaping the roadmap around user feedback.
Have you even tried Garageband? GB has all of these features.

Plot twist: the first feature request is already in - sound 😂 But seriously, this was more of a visual demo, and the project only has a few test tracks thrown in - nothing too exciting to hear.

I didn't know the 3 colored buttons can be placed vertically.
Yes. They can be arranged vertically for the sake of the UI, but it’s not exactly a simple change on macOS.
May I add some human sound to sing the song?
Yes! You can record vocals or any live sound directly through your microphone and add them to your track.
