Problem Mac disks fill up faster than they should, and general cleaners miss most of it. CleanMyMac, DaisyDisk, OnyX, they each cover their slice but you still end up running terminal commands quarterly to prune Docker, delete node_modules across repos, nuke Xcode DerivedData, drop unused iOS simulator runtimes, clear JetBrains caches, hunt the Cargo target dir that grew to 12GB, find the multi-GB framework logs hiding inside project folders. 39 separate cleaners is one answer to that. It looks quite useful and it really makes me want to try it. But I admit that the fact that it is not open source worries me a little. We are still talking about a destructive cleaning operation. Of course, giving access to the disk is completely normal, but it still scares me a little about private code. Have you planned a system that allows rollback in case of a problem?
I’m not giving access to my file system to something not trusted or not open-source to do audit properly. Too much of a security risk. Especially if it’s free forever, but for some reason closed source — a weird charity case to me personally :)

I would think this is in active development as opposed to pearcleaner which hasn’t been updated and probably wont be for a while.
Haven't used Pearcleaner so can't compare directly. MegaCleaner focuses on per-tool scanners for dev caches across 39 ecosystems.
Took a proper look last night. Pearcleaner is mainly an app uninstaller and it's really good at finding leftover files. The dev tab exists but it's small. Mostly Xcode and pip and a couple IDE folders. The maintainer also flagged the project is on hold for now. MegaCleaner is the opposite. Dev caches first across 39 tools. For app uninstalls Pearcleaner wins (for now, update coming). For dev junk MegaCleaner does more.
Very interesting app, i'll play around with it. UI is very impressive out of the bat - I love the pure native look. However, the main screen is very cluttered. Is there a way to just instantly batch clean all the categories that are safe to delete? I couldn't see something like that

Xcode takes A LOT of storage, and that’s definitely a pain for me. Judging by the screenshot the app looks well done. But, as others have said, why not open source it, since it is already free? Is there a particular reason? I’d definitely feel more comfortable using it if it was open source.
Nice work Sergey. How will you support the app (and yourself) if it's free? Also, I suggest that you consider using an Open Source license (e.g. MIT) to further build credibility and a stronger sense of security among the user population.
Mole now has UI (Paid). CLI is still free.

How do you take this type of screenshots ?
So it scans your Mac and finds all the hidden junk eating up your storage, old browser caches, leftover app files, and random logs, after which you pick what to delete. It moves everything to Trash first in case you need to undo any deletions. It’s free, which is cool, but I do wonder why it’s closed source. Like if you’re not charging for it, why not just let people see the code? Especially when the app apparently needs full access to the file system to work.
Yeah that's basically it. Moving to trash first was the safety net I wanted for myself, easy to recover if I yanked something I needed.
