No, I still have to dive into this category of apps. Hence my little list :) But Bunch is here for quite some time and is free. I guess it all depends on the details.

Bunch is the answer for what you’re describing. It’s not just window snapping, you write a small script that opens folders, runs terminal commands, launches apps, all from one trigger. I have one called work that opens my repo in Cursor, cds into it in iTerm, and runs pnpm dev. Way better than profile-based window managers for actual project switching.

i built shiftplus for exactly this. the workflow is simple - set up your windows the way you want for a project, save it as a profile, done. next time you need that setup just activate the profile and all your apps open in the right position on the right screen. this is basically that but automated. also has icloud sync if you work across multiple macs https://shiftplus.app/ happy to help if you want to try it out In your case, you can just whaever folders you want them to be ready in `Folder` section of the app. Or,`Applications` section, locate to your Terminal (or iTerm), add the pre-run command to it. You can enable `Quit irrealevant apps` if you do need a fresh workspace. Let me know if you need more help

Not gonna lie you’re the perfect person to try this out https://easysnaps.org/window-manager/. It does exactly what you’re saying here. After snapping the windows in place you can save a smart profiles and it will automatically save the context of all your apps. You can then open this profile in any monitor and on a new space. Hey, I built Lattix for this exact purpose. With the latest update, lattix also supports spaces/virtual desktops. Posted about it here, if you want to check it out

Bunch (already mentioned) is great for this. Alternatively, Raycast workspaces can do a lot of the same things if you already use Raycast. You set up a workspace with the apps, windows and folders you need, and activate it with a hotkey. For terminal specifically, iTerm2 has built-in session restore and profiles you can launch from the command line, which pairs well with a Bunch script. The key is having one trigger that does the whole setup rather than clicking through it manually every time.

I use Keyboard maestro for this purpose. It has a bit of a learning curve, but when I realised the same shortcut can be used to Get different results depending on your screen-setup I never looked back (different workspace setups if I have an ext screen, if the screen is an iPad, etc). And it is useful for so many other things as well so for me it was well worth the investment (of time used to det it up).
