This app seems sloppily put together. Why are all the characters so inconsistent and of varying quality? Even at 5 USD, this feels overpriced. Did you make any of these illustrations or characters yourself?
This is too bad my man, I'm sorry but the only way I would use this app is if you paid me for every minute I have a sloppily put-together gif on my screen.
Don’t do it. Vibe-coding and selling it? This should be free until you get something really unique about your app.
I never really understood the appeal of having a virtual pet on your desktop or even inside your code editor (yes, one of my friends has a pet running in VS Code 😄). But hey, to each their own. That said, I do like the idea of having something that grows on my desktop over time, almost like watching a Terraria world slowly evolve. Haha. You mentioned that animated WebP is easy on the CPU. Have you ever considered using an MP4 instead? I'm curious about the trade-offs. Is WebP actually cheaper to decode, or is there another reason you chose it over video? I'd love to hear more about the performance costs.
