iCharm – Hyper-realistic, animated interactive desktop charms for your Mac! (Looking for feedback)

完整上下文原始内容 · Reddit

Hey r/macapps! I’ve been working on a passion project called iCharm, and I’m excited to finally share it with you all. If you miss the nostalgic era of desktop companions/pets but want something built modernly for macOS with a clean, high-quality aesthetic, this is for you. What is iCharm? It brings hyper-realistic, beautifully animated interactive creatures and objects (like animated fruits and little companions) straight to your desktop. I wanted to move away from pixel art and create something that feels premium, fluid, and visually satisfying to interact with while you work or study. Features: Premium Visuals: Hyper-realistic, smooth animations designed to blend beautifully with macOS. Minimalist & Lightweight: It’s built natively to sit elegantly on your screen without hogging resources or being intrusive. Interactive: Little elements that respond to you and live on your desktop to keep you company. I’m really trying to capture a minimalist, polished vibe that feels right at home on a modern Mac setup. I’d love to know what you think, what kind of characters/objects you’d want to see added next, or any feedback you have on the concept! Check it out here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/icharm-desktop-charms/id6762230621?mt=12 Cheers

the "hyper-realistic over pixel art" direction is a smart call. pixel art charms feel nostalgic but can clash with a clean macOS setup. curious what characters are coming next, the animated fruit vibe is fun

I love the fact that you went hyper-realistic instead of pixel art.

lmaoo nice what is the 3d engine (if not a commercial secret)?

it's 100% native. Using metal renderer to keep CPU/GPU incredibly low at around 1% cpu usage per charm

I love the idea of this, but in terms of characters I think people would want to see - it's probably something cute instead of something that looks like it might kill me in my sleep...
