Health App for macOS ?

完整上下文原始内容 · Reddit

I would love to have Apple Health on my Macbook - even just as a "read only" application or to check/edit med-plans. I never thought I would use Apple Health this much on my iPhone and Apple Watch - but it actually helps me keep track of medication times and also a general overview of how I am doing. Apple Health has so many numbers/Charts/etc available on the iPhone and it would be so awesome to have this on "the big screen". Sadly there is no Apple Health on my Mac from Apple itself so I am wondering if there are third party apps that are able to "suck" the health data from my iPhone and present them on macOS?

health.md can export read-only health data to markdown files. I get Claude to interpret it in Obsidian.

Thank you. I will have a look and check it out :-)

Thanks to you I have downloaded health md on my Mac and also my iPhone. I allowed it access to 170 metrics and started a sync. This works really fast. I did notice though that the export only contains a few metrics, no more than 10 or so. Is this normal? When I check in the config on the iPhone health md says "Full Access Unlocked" - even though I have not yet purchased anything?! Do you have any ideas?

Do you use peripherals like an Apple Watch to capture data? My export setting in health.md shows I’m sending 121 of 170 possible metrics and I assume the remainder represents data not being captured in the first place. Check export settings.

Same. And the developer is very responsive and keeps making updates, which I appreciate.

I’d love this too. Increasingly I’m becoming laptop first. I rarely use my phone when I’m at home. I might be in the minority, but I don’t like looking at a 5 inch screen when I can look at a beautiful screen of 15 inch.

That is exactly my reasoning - I wish I could use my big screens to display what is already inside my iCloud synced for Health.

I think it's because of the restrictions towards the new health apps on the mac?

Probably (for third party) - of course the best solution would be if Apple itself offered the health app right on the Mac - but well that is not the case (at least at this time). But the suggestion in one of the comments about health.md is at least something I will have a closer look at.

It's not good as a native app but you can try iPhone Mirroring app which you can read and also write. iPhone Mirroring: Use your iPhone from your Mac

Sadly iPhone Mirroring is not available in the EU. Otherwise I would have used that as well. Thank you though.

yeah same, kinda annoying its not on mac tbh. would be way nicer to check stats and trends on a bigger screen

Sounds like a handy little app - I know there are APIs from Apple available that can be used to retrieve the data. Hopefully some people will have recommendations

I'd also love to see that. While I can access it on iPad, sometimes on Mac would be great to utilise the bigger external monitors I have hooked to my Mac

it’s honestly crazy apple hasn’t made a mac version yet. reviewing trends on a bigger screen would be 10x more useful, even if it can't track new data

Seeing a lot of need from my own and my friends as well, however, not sure why Apply hasn't shipped it yet.

It took ages to get a version that was available on the iPad. We’ve maybe only had access to it on the iPad for 3ish years or so? Ah, 4 years. April 2022, it looks like, possibly from data on my iPad, though Wikipedia says Sept 2023. Apple Health was originally released for the iPhone in Sept 2014. That’s a huge gap, considering they probably didn’t need to do any development other than to support the larger screen size of the iPad since the architecture was the same..

If i remember correctly, there is a way to get apple health data out of Apple Health, but it has to be initiated via an iOS device that's logged into the Apple account associated with the health data. The official health kit documentation has a lot of details on this: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/healthkit

iPhone Mirroring is not available in the EU :-/ I have now exported in Markdown with health md and also gotten the desktop client - at least it gives me some type of raw data I can use with another app or let Claude AI create a desktop dashboard for myself. But so far it seems health md does not seem to export ALL health data, even though I allow it full access to all 170 metrics. I am not sure if this is a setting I can change so I am investigating that route for now.
