Drooid: Unbiased News from All sides
Hello everyone, I built an AI news app that shows multiple sideses of the same story through short, clear summaries. It pulls information from 1000s of news sources, highlights their bias and reliability. Provide full breakdowns of stories that tells what happened, why it matters, and where sources disagree. Problem: People get news on social media platforms, social media platform give you news that conforms to your biases, so you are not exposed to opposing or different viewpoints. A normal person can read from handful of the original news sources and these are also not free from editorial and political biases. Comparison: Unlike Ground news, Drooid doesn’t just show headlines. Drooid highlights difference right away. Drooid has better filters, that let you see how different sides are covering different news events. Ground news doesn't have full breakdowns. Pretty much unusable on a Mac, due to constrained window size and poor page layout. Also, using this in free mode is incredibly frustrating. After about 4 popup screens in 5 minutes to subscribe, I deleted the app. Users shouldn't be forced to jump through hoops to make an app work and to subscribe before they've tried it out.

We use LLMs(Gpt 4o) to compare the articles with each other. We rely on third party databases like Ad Fontes to get the bias ratings for the news publications.
