Looking for the app that shows “active windows” from an app

完整上下文原始内容 · Reddit

Hi, a while ago, I saw an app in this group, the OP told that you can see all the active windows from apps and can switch intuitively from one to another. It’s not about cmd+tab. So I remember it had this search alike window, and you could see exactly like a list in a board. Can someone help me to find the app? Used ask feature but it didn’t return anything. Thank you ☺️.

native shortcut `ctrl + ↓` does it for you actually. but if you're interested in BSP tiling + context switching and more, doesn't hurt to check out my app BetterStage

Maybe Sidebar is something for you. It’s a Dock replacement which offers a lot more features than the default Dock. One of the features is that you are able to see all windows of an app and you can switch between them with a single click. Of course there are multiple ways built in to do so, e.g. preview windows, a Window alt tab like window switcher etc. In the author of the app, so if you have any questions let me know, I’m happy to assist :)

if you dont find it, let me know i will build it for you. of course for free.

Thank you, but looks like I have found some good recommendation and the original app that I was looking for, will have to test and check if there are shortcomings.

Dockdoor is a great finding, thank you, I am glad that you recommended an open source project first. It was the app which I haven't thought of earlier.

Yea I wasn’t sure at first cuz you said it isn’t about Cmd+Tab, but it indeed does what you’re looking for

sounds like Witch, it's a menu bar app that shows every open window across all apps in a searchable list, pretty much exactly what you're describing

Scopo supports search feature and others, leaving the link here in case it interests you OP or anyone else. scopo.app/features and more specifically the search feature https://scopo.app/features/search Disclaimer: I'm scopo developer, all feedback is welcomed =)

Sounds like Contexts (contexts.co). It has a search-overlay UI where you type a few letters and get a filtered list of every open window across all apps, then Enter to jump. There's also a sidebar mode that shows every window as a running list.s If it wasn't Contexts, the other candidates are Witch and AltTab, but Contexts is the most "list on a board" of the bunch.

i'd be interested in an app like this as well, but I'd want it to be a pretty app.

Sounds like Contexts? It has a searchable list of every open window and you can jump to any of them not just the frontmost window of each app like cmd+tab does. AltTab is another good free alternative if that's not it.

Mac OS used to have a ‚cycle through all open windows of an app‘ keyboard shortcut, but now it just randomly cycles through any open windows and it‘s been driving me nuts

Didn't find this app after searching, command+tilde, original name.

This is not a app but a shortcut thst will show all the current app. But I think it's limited to that desktop. Yiubcan also use 3 or 4 finger swipe down Or use ctrl+ down arrow.
