OwlOCR 7 Help Please
Edit: I heard back from the developer who found a restore/purchase recognition issue in the v7 Electron build and is fixing that for the next update which should address this issue. Original Post: OwlOCR 7 is out but I have a problem with it. I had bought Lifetime Pro for version 6 and it upgraded to version 7 fine on my Mac Mini and recognized the Pro version. Yay. However, it won't upgrade to Pro on my Macbook without paying another $ 20. It's likely related to RevenueCat since the IDs are somehow different. I don't know enough about that and only got this far after spending two hours troubleshooting with ChatGPT this morning. I don't know if this a bug on my Mac Mini that got the upgrade or if it's a bug that the Macbook didn't. Maybe the Lifetime Pro purchase was only for version 6 and I need to buy a new Lifetime Pro for version 7. I had emailed the developer before about another issue but never received a response so I'm not planning on emailing him again. Does anyone here know anything about this?

I have the same problem after almost every OwlOCR update after they (now JonLuca De Caro but I swear a year ago it was under another name) bought it from the previous developer (Urtti Apps Oy). It looks like previous lifetime owners now quietly receive a link to "download the legacy app” when attempting to restore a purchase. We have different interpretations of what Lifetime means. Kind of a sh*t move. And if I purchased lifetime again how do I know that will be honoured. FWIW I’ve been using PDF Text Include as an alternative and get comparable results.

The Restore now works great for my version 6 pro to version 7 Pro upgrade.
Same issue here. Corresponded with the developer. He won’t honour the “lifetime” license I bought for the new version. Burned all trust. Moving to TextSniper.
I bought this app on Bundle Hunt. It said it was a lifetime plan with major updates, but I could only update to Ver.6.4.2. So I emaild the developer, and they told me the plan is only for Ver.6 and I need to buy Ver.7 separately, and they sent me the link for Ver.6.4.5. The also said if I want a refund, I should contact Bundle Hunt (which makes sense). My situation is very similar to yours, so I wanted to share. PDF Text Include looks good, so I might try it too. actually, I bought OwlOCR Pro from bundlehunt AND the AppStore. Not only does it not reactivate the PRO License with Version 7, but I also can't buy a new PRO either. So, the error reads like this: "Error invoking remote method 'revenuecat:purchase': Error: Unable to Complete Request Something went wrong. Try again." and if I look it up I'm landing here: https://www.revenuecat.com/docs/offerings/troubleshooting-offerings Developer mailed me back with the Legacy 6.4.5. version, that a bug is in the code of version 7 and the app is in review by Apple. My routines are time critical, so I have to set up AI alternatives already.

Is the problem solved now? I want to buy OwlOCR Pro Lifetime, So the dev did not respond!? So Lifetime V7 is only for version 7.x updates and not version 8.x?
I'm not sure about 8, but the latest version released in the last week fixed my Restore issue so my Pro 6 purchased last year is now licensed for Pro 7 successfully.
Thanks, and you like this app? I tried some difficult pictures, and the results are better than DevonThink 4. The “free” version (Owl) did not allow the use of AI features.
