I like the concept but how does this compare to Lattix ?
Good question, and Lattix is a solid app. The honest answer is they overlap but the emphasis is different Lattix is mainly a launcher and window-layout manager, and its standout is macOS Spaces, it launches your apps, files and URLs into a configuration across multiple Spaces and monitors, with space naming and fast space switching. If your workflow is organized around multiple Mission Control Spaces, that's its sweet spot Cove is more about capturing and restoring your live workspace state, not launching a predefined config. It snapshots what is actually open right now: the exact browser tabs in each window (Safari, Chrome, Brave, Edge, Arc, in order), each Terminal or iTerm working directory, Finder paths, VS Code and Xcode workspaces, plus optional linked Reminders, Notes and Things, and a macOS Focus Mode that fires on restore. You don't pre-configure URLs, Cove grabs your real tabs and directories as they are It also has Park (capture the current session and close its apps, like git stash for your desktop) and auto-detect that suggests the right Session as you open apps, so it leans more switching workflow than launcher Rough rule of thumb: Lattix shines if you want to launch app and window layouts across Spaces and monitors. Looks like something I could use, but whether it clicks with my workflows depends a lot on the details... Hence, a trial would be great! I don't think, paying and getting a refund is a real replacement for a trial.

Quelle est la vitesse de restauration par exemple pour 3 espaces de travail macOS avec 4 applications par espaces ? J'utilise Spencer mais je cherche toujours à optimiser le flux de travail, et donc la vitesse est une priorité. Est-ce que cela fonctionne même sous Macos 27 ?
La vitesse c'est un point sur lequel je fais attention. Pour un cas comme le tien (3 espaces, 4 apps par espace), ça dépend surtout du nombre d'apps et de leur temps de lancement. Si les apps sont déjà ouvertes, Cove remet juste les fenêtres en place et c'est quasi instantané. Si elles doivent se lancer à froid, le temps dépend de la vitesse de lancement de chaque app, ce qui est géré par macOS et pas par Cove. Donc Cove n'ajoute pas de lenteur, il suit le rythme de tes apps. De mon côté je suis sur un Mac M3 et c'est fluide Pour macOS 27, je ne l'ai pas encore testé directement, donc je ne veux pas te promettre quoi que ce soit que je n'ai pas vérifié. Cela dit, d'après ce qu'Apple annonce, la 27 est censée être bien mieux optimisée que la 26, ils ont fait du ménage côté système, donc a priori ça devrait plutôt aider. Dans tous les cas je tiens à m'assurer que Cove fonctionne bien sur macOS 27, y compris les versions bêta, donc quand je testerai, je te confirmerai ici 😄 Si tu viens de Spencer, la différence c'est que Cove restaure l'état réel (onglets, dossier courant, positions par écran) et pas juste le lancement des apps
You mention that Lattix is Spaces aware in a comparison, does that mean that Cove is not Spaces aware?

Do you have a trial version? I'm interested but currently on developer beta and my spaces are not working. I don't get a plus sign I know this 'll get fixed and the app will be useful then Maybe it's useful now?
The missing plus sign is a bug in macOS 27 beta; nothing to do with Cove Cove doesn't create or manage Spaces, but saves/restores the window state (size, position, etc.) on the desktop and can also save/restore the tabs and working folders of supported apps. Therefore, the lack of Spaces in the beta won't impact its usefulness There are many requests for the ability to restore windows between Spaces, so it's on the list of things I'm looking into There isn't yet a free trial option, but I am working on that. Does Cove save and restore apps in different MacOS Spaces? I read your post that this a feature where Lattix excels, but I didn't understand if Cove doesn't do that at all or what. Could you clarify?
Hey, Cove and Lattix just focus on different things. Lattix is strong at spreading apps across Spaces. Cove goes deeper on restoring the actual state of your work, your browser tabs, your terminal and editor folders, your Focus setup, all back in one click. On Spaces specifically, Cove brings everything back on your current desktop instead of placing each app on its original Space. That's a deliberate choice for now, mostly because macOS has no clean, reliable way to do it with the full context of each app (windows, tabs, documents etc.). It's been asked a few times though, so it's on my radar!
