Text Catalyst - Clipboard Manager Meets Text Expander
I know, another clipboard manager? Didn’t we have enough of those already? In my defense, Text Catalyst is very different from most clipboard managers out there. I've been using clipboard managers on my Mac for ages. Over time, it occurred to me that a powerful clipboard manager should also support frequently used snippets — and the best way to insert snippets is text replacement, aka text expansion. A clipboard manager combined with a text expander isn't a novel idea today. But when I started building this app over a year ago, very few apps offered both. So I set out to build one myself, with my experience as both a longtime user and a macOS developer. I first released it 9 months ago, and across 12 versions since then, I think it’s finally ready to meet everyone. Features 1. Text Expansion Insert snippets with a few keystrokes in any app. 2. Searchable Images Text Catalyst extracts text from images, so you can find images by searching the text inside them. 3. Paste Stack Or Sequential Paste, Paste Queue, whatever you like to call it. The icing on the cake: we put in extra effort so you can keep using ⌘ C and ⌘ V with Paste Stack. 4. Performance Blazing fast even with thousands of items. Search is instant and memory usage stays low. Comparison Paste is a great app that has inspired many others. Text Catalyst takes a very different design approach, favoring information density — and Paste lacks text expansion. Maccy is a well-loved FOSS app that gets the job done. Text Catalyst aims for a more spacious design and a broader feature set. Pricing Text Catalyst comes with a 7-day free trial, so you can see if it fits your workflow. The full app is a one-time purchase of US$19.99 — no subscription. Download on the Mac App Store Visit Website for More Information

The searchable images feature caught my attention. Does OCR happen locally on the Mac, or is any data sent to a server?
It’s all locally done by Apple’s Vision framework.
Looks great! I'm currently using Raycast for clipboard history and snippets. One thing that bothers me about Raycast is that formatted snippets are always pasted with a default font and font size into my emails, which doesn't match my regular email font. So I always have to reformat them after pasting before I can send the email. How does your app handle formatted text snippets, e.g. an email signature with hyperlinks?
So far it only supports plain text snippets. We plan to support rich text snippets.
