Decks: An app to record, organize, and recall your ideas

完整上下文原始内容 · Reddit

Problem: Decks exists to close the gap between how people think and how tools force them to capture those thoughts. Everything is accessible from one place, so your idea and their context aren’t scattered across a dozen apps making it easier to recall information months or even years later Comparison: Apps like Notion and Obsidian. Decks is better because there's no complex setup and configuration. The tool gets out of your way and gives you plenty of options to capture your ideas in a way that best works for you. Pricing: $20 lifetime. It starts as a subscription which gives you a year of updates but you can cancel and continue using the version of the app you have forever. Decks was first released back in 2020. The app is both signed by Apple and Microsoft for distribution. link: https://decksapp.com terms: https://www.decksapp.com/terms privacy: https://www.decksapp.com/privacy github: https://github.com/jasonmng contact: https://jnmgventures.com/ (jason@jnmgventures.com)

that's not entirely accurate though. if you buy and cancel you still have the software.

Time is up and: macOS 27 comes out and something breaks - pay another year You fix a critical bug - pay another year You introduce enhanced usability of something that people were battling with - pay another year Etc I'm not questioning whether you should charge one or not. There is just too much of this marketing nonsense out there. The idea that you have usable sw years down the line is not accurate Just call it a subscription

Would you say it compare to Resurf in terms of saving thing from everywhere to never forget. I’m using Resurf for now but the paid license is very pricey. I’ll give this a try !!

out of interest, how did you originally find your way to this being the problem you wanted to spend time on? own pain, watching others, something else entirely? always interested in how people choose what to spend years on

I built this for my own needs. Others seems to enjoy it as well so I continue developing and putting it out there.

Ideas almost never show up when I’m sitting at the Mac. They hit while walking or in a meeting, so if iPhone or Watch capture isn't instant, the thought is basically gone. Drafts has had this for years with its speed, actions, and Watch dictation. Apple Notes also does the silent sync across everything stupidly well. I like Decks' one-place-with-context idea, but the real test will be whether the mobile side feels as seamless as the Mac side. Currently, how are you handling capture-to-recall across all your devices?

This looks really cool! I love how there's so many options in it like notes, flascards, recordings etc

Great app! Really feel like I could get most of my workflows done here in one app. Anychance, you guys offer a edu discount for students?
