Forma 1.2: Now With Multiple Boards
4 months ago I shared Forma – canvas-first tasks & notes here. The app has been getting constant usability and QoL updates but last week Forma got it's biggest update yet: Multi Boards. Start scrolling anywhere and a menu appears with the list of your boards. Switching between contexts feels smooth and natural from a few weeks of testing this. Problem: people don't think in rigid lists. Forma gives you a canvas for your ideas, tasks or notes and allows you to group them visually. Comparison: usually people use Miro, FigJam or similar canvas apps for this purpose but they're heavy and were created for collaborative work like workshops, not for daily use. Cards with reminders and grouping based on time lines would be awsme , also people need to try before the buy

This is cool. Do you have to draw the arrows to connect the cards or is there an arrow tool?

the canvas approach is still pretty rare for task apps, does it sync across devices or is it mac-only for now?
That's exactly why I built this, wanted to visualize my projects but didn't find anything. This is Mac only for now and all data is stored locally. An iPhone (and possibly iPad) apps are coming but not in the near future.

Cool app! I'm more like a color code person, so can you change color for the note?
Thank you. Colors aren't available yet but this is an common thing I get so it's high in the backlog. The main thing is to make it right, I really don't want to turn this app into a drawing tool with colors and shapes, if that makes sense.

It allows for creating task tracking, note tacking and project management. This latest release introduced multiple independent boards.

Looks beautiful. Congrats. One suggestion though: this can quickly grow and become manageable, so there should be an escape hatch (if not already). I would expect to be able to select multiple and extract them to new board. This way important stuff can be isolated from the noise.
