This is not the same thing exactly, but it is a quirky item to have if this is the kind of stuff you think about at home: https://ukdepartureboards.co.uk/store/product/desktop-departures/

pretty much yeah, but with a worse less obvious UI that is also trying to help you buy tickets. this is purely informational and it takes the most optimal version of the interface trains have the departure board a replicates it for web

scale in what sense sorry?

u/ryancosansOP

not claude 😉

The text is tiny. If I put this up on a big display, it's unreadable. It doesn't scale with display size. You could also make the calling at list clickable links, you already have all the coding.

Hmm. Definitely an LLM - which one?

https://stationview.app/shf seems like it shows Sheffield departures. could you give me a little more info just incase it’s a bug? 👍

u/lessthantom

Yeh i can find them if i type sheffield into the “find a station” section but if i type SHF sheffield doesnt appear Not a big deal just thought id mention it

The limit can be messed with, the plan was to only show a few ahead of time, so that it’s similar to the boards at stations but i can perhaps look at a way of showing more. i think i may have an idea for filtering by platform, and yeah platform is basically a guess for some stations (usually those with two platforms are easy) the others i can’t show info for until it’s confirmed

u/ryancosansOP

that sounds really cool and yeah a link to that would be fantastic as I'd probably use it as well. the next thing I want to work on is subbing to notifications for particular trains to know if they're going to be delayed etc but I need to figure out a nice UI

That’s great, good work 😊 Can I suggest the option of picking a platform? Selfishly because at my 2 platform local station, I only really care about 1 direction.

I recognise Claude when I see it 🫡

Okay, yes, this is great. Good vibe-code idea. Now make it scale properly!

Does it have a limit of how far forward I can look, or is it just because it’s late and it’s loaded all the departures for the day? It’s super handy though - can see this being bookmarked for my most regular stations. Like someone else said filtering by platform might be useful, or even “calling at” points, or service providers? I can’t tell from the stations I’ve looked at but how does it handle the platform number displayed? Will it not display if one isn’t confirmed or does it show “Platform —“ like on the departure boards?

u/lessthantom

I like it although randomly i put SHF in for sheffield and got every station but sheffield
