We sell to both B2B and B2C. Is there catalog software that handles both workflows in one platform?

We sell to both B2B and B2C. Our wholesale buyers need quote request forms and tiered pricing, and our retail customers just want to browse and buy. Every catalog software for wholesale we've looked at is great on the B2B side but completely falls apart when it comes to the retail experience. Right now we're managing two completely separate systems and it's becoming a nightmare to keep both updated. Is there a single platform that handles both workflows or are we always going to need two separate solutions?

That is what I was hoping to hear. Managing two completely separate setups for each side was starting to feel unsustainable.
Take a look at commercetools. It's a more modern approach to selling online, and does a good job of supporting both B2B and B2C on a single instance. Their customers do tend to be enterprise though, so if you're only on the scale of a Shopify or a WooCommerce, it might be a pretty significant shock to your system, lol
Retail wants speed, B2B wants control.
Classic customer segmentation challenge With Spree Commerce you could solve it with a single admin dashboard, one product catalog and stock levels, shared integrations and shared infrastructure - in one of two ways: multi store - two separate storefronts, two domains, two separate shopping experiences, each store with different price lists etc a single store - one storefront, customers sign up / log in and are presented with a shopping experience that fits their customer segment Depending on the requirements and your specific needs, one or the other could work
Decouple your operations from storefronts and should be good to go — there should be no issues with managing two different sale platforms with strong centralisation. What are exactly the issues you're running into now?
“This is exactly the kind of problem MedusaJS was built for. You don’t actually need two systems, you need one backend that handles both B2B and B2C logic, with separate frontends/experiences on top. For example: B2B → custom pricing, quote requests, account-based access B2C → standard storefront, fast checkout, clean UX Same product catalog, same inventory, same backend — just different logic depending on the customer type. Most ‘all-in-one’ platforms struggle because they try to force both into the same frontend experience. Headless setups avoid that completely. We solved this at our agency by running a backend with customer specific workflows.
The workflows are fundamentally different.
