What are some cool news/ Reddit/ Media reader apps?

I'm looking for a news reader app that I can follow news, Reddit, and some keywords if possible. There's so many. What are everyones favorite current apps?

I was just about to suggest this!

Is it only on the web?

NetNewsWire is the king! I setup FreshRSS on my Raspberry Pi, but you can add your feeds to a local account a sync via iCloud as well.

i havent seen anything nearly as good as this to this day tbh

I think Unread is the best designed reader I’ve used and I’ve tried a ton of them. However, I just switched to Current and I really enjoy its take on RSS. It’s much less stressful if you follow a lot of feeds.

I recently reinstalled Netnewswire again and I enjoy using it so far! You can also take a look at Unread

Betamagic - News Explorer is a hidden gem imho

For me, Unread has worked great for the last 5 years. Overwhelming feeds have always been a problem for me. It cut through it better than most. The typography and article view are also noticeably better than NetNewsWire for long reading sessions.

Reeder, both version. Reeder Classic if you want something more... classic. The newest if you want an app that can read directly from Youtube, social media, etc. It's not free (optional with restrictions) but worth it.

I came to say this. I still love RSS.

I use my own because i subscribe to just too many feeds and subreddits, so summarization is a must for me, since there wansn't any app out there that could summarize all comments and not just a few a did it for myself. https://rssreader-website2.vercel.app/

This is the winner. I have also featured this on my site.

I recently switched from Reeder Classic to Unread and I love it. I use it on desktop and iPhone.

Reeder Classic (the old one, now free with optional pro features) is still my daily — for raw RSS + Reddit feeds via JSON it's hard to beat the keyboard-only flow. The new Reeder is genuinely good for the YouTube/Mastodon-as-river-of-content vibe but slower for actually plowing through a queue. If you want to also pipe in keywords + newsletters, the cleanest combo I've landed on is Feedbin (web) for aggregation, surfaced into Reeder Classic via the Feedbin sync. Inoreader does it all natively but the UI made my eyes glaze. For Reddit specifically I just subscribe to multi-Reddit RSS feeds in Reeder rather than using a dedicated Reddit app. Way fewer notifications, way less doomscroll.

Inoreader

For me the best is News Explorer. Mac, iPad and iPhone with iCloud sync. Not free but cheap without subscription.
