I need to repost some product listings and i want fresh images without steaming the clothes, reshooting in my studio and editing. What sort of AI tools exist today that can bulk change background in images, or just touch up photos to create a superficial change that makes an image look fresh? I've uploaded an image to gemini and said add a rustic wooden floor to the image and it was perfect. However -this took a while -would probably cost tokens quickly (better value elsewhere?) -i couldn't get it to give me a good quality copy of the file, just kept pumping out low res Thanks

Yep, it's getting so much better too, for website images more than acceptable. Of course, not all are perfect but learning how to prompt correctly is the key

You'll probably have someone recommend something. But as a photographer and artist, AI always creates flawed results. Some detail is always off like the pixel density doesn't match, small details end up blurred, the item changes size between photos or the perspective is wrong. Expect to retouch any results you get and in the end, you might wish you'd just gone to the studio and skipped the screwing around.
One-off, I think Gemini is your best bet, followed quickly by ChatGPT (5.5 is a really great model for image, it's improved quite a bit). If you need to scale it to 100s of images, most tools that do this are in the $50/mo. range (higher with more volume). BUT if you're feeling adventurous ***and you're at least a little tech savvy*** you might be surprised by how much you can do with Claude Code or Codex. Vibe code a user interface - "I want to edit 100s of photos at a time, using a simple interface where I drop in a photo/link and the tool does [XYZ] to the product in the images. Set up the UI, then separately tell me how to set up the API for Gemini Nano Banana and/or GPT Image model." Create a dev account on Google AI or OpenAI. Have Claude or ChatGPT walk you through it. You can do this 30 minutes, and it'll be much cheaper than the specific tools that do this. Is it worth your time? Your call.

You might want to check out "Portrait Drop". It's not one of those apps where you upload a photo and wait for AI to regenerate it. You just open the camera, snap your product, and it gives you a clean, studio-style photo right from the capture. It's free to use, and I think it's Android-only for now.
