Does a real email client + full project management app exist in one? (not a Chrome extension)

Hi everyone, I am not sure if this is the right subreddit, but I am looking for a standalone app (not a browser extension) that does both: A real inbox where I actually read and reply to mail, like a proper email client. Full PM: kanban board, Gantt/timeline, sprints, and turning an email into a task or linking an email to an existing task. The point is: open the app, see mail come in, drop a message into the right task, and find those emails back inside the task later. Already checked, so no need to suggest these: - Missive: great inbox, can turn a thread into a task, but light PM. No Gantt or sprints. - ClickUp: full PM and email inside tasks, but task-first, no real inbox to triage from. - Nifty: "email" is just forward-to-task, not a real inbox. - Kanbanchi: kanban + Gantt from Gmail, but not an inbox you read/reply in. - Alltum: closest in spirit but very new, no real Gantt/sprints yet. Inbox-first tools have weak PM, real PM tools have no inbox. Does anything actually do both in one app? Thanks in advance!

I've been looking for a better email client for years. I'm looking for something similar. open the app, it's a calendar (day, month, year views). Depending on your view are the messages that arrived during that period. You can also create folders, view by tags (categories) or tasks.. as well as by subjects, projects, etc.

they're looking for something that isn't a chrome extension, which suggests they want a standalone app that can handle email and project management, that's a pretty specific requirement

I don't think the unified app you're describing exists yet. Every tool I've tried either nails the inbox and bolts on basic tasks, or nails PM and treats email as an afterthought. What ended up working for me was Outlook as the actual inbox plus a separate PM tool that syncs calendar events. Not one app, but at least the calendar layer connects them so tasks and meetings show up in the same view.

u/AlexanderNieuwland I'm building fyltre.ai after running into the same problem. It pulls Gmail, Outlook, Slack and Teams into one prioritised inbox with a morning brief. It sounds pretty close to what you're describing. If you're curious, it's fyltre.ai. Happy to answer any questions.
