Free launcher to replace Nova Launcher that just does a few very basic things?

Like countless others I'm giving up on Nova Launcher now after nearly a decade, since it was bought out and turned to shit with ads, tracking, and yearly cost. I just want a free clean simple launcher. This is how my current one is and I want to replicate: https://imgur.com/a/bUrFl2b All I need is one that will let me: Have the date (taps to open Google Calendar) Have the weather (taps to open Pixel Weather) Customize the home screen icon layout That's it.

I have not seen ads on Nova Launcher .

The free version of Nova Launcher is now stuffed with ads in the app listing and built in trackers.

Looks good, usable and without ads.

Lawnchair or KISS , honestly. Both are pretty bare bones and dont try to sell you a subscription

Microsoft launcher is very solid

Lawnchair is best Nova replacement IMO.

It is not like Nova and all the others, that's why it is so special: Niagara Launcher

I use Octopi launcher is really good and the dev works on it constantly. It's free and has no ads, the pro version adds a few things and it's very cheap.

I've been using Nova Launcher for several years. I can't find those ads. Where are they?

Would you be willing to be a tester for a launcher I made and have in alpha right now?

Orb launcher is interesting

Try No Launcher

Heads up that I'm the dev, so weigh accordingly. Spade Launcher does most of your list. Date: taps through to your calendar app, and you can pick which one. Weather: being upfront, this uses my own backend rather than pulling from Pixel Weather, so that tap target isn't configurable to that app specifically. If that's a dealbreaker, fair enough. Worth noting though: the weather is based on a city you pick yourself, not your actual location. Launchers wanting location access for no real reason was a dealbreaker for me personally, so I built around it. That weather lookup is the only outbound request the app makes, and the request gets deleted after use. Give it a try and see what you think.
