...would that be the perfect notes app? Does such thing exist? I'm going through a very chaotic/traumatic time in life and I've always had a very demanding job with very little structure so establishing routines is difficult for me. I rely heavily on notes and to do lists to manage everything, but things still get so disorganized. I currently use both OneNote and Apple Notes. My assistant keeps much our of general work info in OneNote and she likes it. When I was using it more extensively for my own lists, I found toggling back and forth through the workbooks tedious (maybe there is an easier way?). Currently, I primarily use Apple Notes for my own work lists and personal stuff and it's getting out of hand. I think it might be better to use a separate app for personal and work lists for better boundaries - turning off my work brain is hard! Ideally, I'm looking for something that has the best of both the Notes and OneNote app. My criteria are: - Simple and Fast (Notes is great, OneNote feels bloated and too free-form) - Easy to navigate (I like the nested system in OneNote and find Notes lacking here) - iOS/Mac - needs to sync (both are good for this although I find Notes is better) - Desktop App - Must have the ability to have at least 2 columns per note (Main reason why Notes doesn't work well for me). If it weren't for this I'd probably stick with it. I tried Evernote awhile back (years ago) and remember I did not love the navigation. Any suggestions?

I personally use obsidian but it isn’t for everyone. Highly configurable though.
Notion did not seem simple to me at all. Personal experience though

I like the default theme in Obsidian and have never bothered to change it or tweak it. Similarly with Obsidian — better now that developer has added text size preferences in iOS.
Can you recommend any that have columns? I only really need 2 columns. I know OneNote does columns, but really looking for an alternative.
Not really, I think the last one I used with columns was one note, and that was 10+ years ago. Personally, I don’t see the need for columns, I’d rather use markdown and have proper headings to separate sections.
The need for columns really limits you, there are a lot of great notes apps out there, but I can’t think of many that support columns.
Unfortunately one like this does not exist. THis is what I have been looking for as well
I am an Obsidian user and it fits the bill except that many at first find it not entirely “simple… and easy to navigate” although it is when you get to know it. An alternative I would suggest investigating is newcomer https://octarine.app which is Obsidian-like but simpler and easier.
Does notion not fit this criteria?
Craft Docs?
Try Joplin. It’s completely free, can sync with any device, web clipper browser extension, End-To-End Encryption (E2EE) with Dropbox, so you can be safe no company will use your data to train AI. Not as customisable as Obsidian but you said you wanted something simple.
