Basically, the title. I already tried Last.fm, but it doesn't "scrobble" from the media player I use (KLite Codec Pack's Media Player Classic). I don't need something complex, I don't need Spotify, I don't use online streaming. I'm just curious to see which songs I listen to the most in the long term, and a simple, offline "You opened this mp3 file 1000 times" would be enough. I don't need it to get album and artist info off a database or create a whole ass profile of what I listen to. (Figured media players would have this as a neat little built-in feature, but I guess I was wrong)

If you don't use online streaming services, maybe you'd be interested in self hosting Navidrome? It let's you see your collection organized neatly and can show you stats of the most played songs etc. I can't paste images in this reply, but uploaded a sample screenshot of my instance here: https://ibb.co/4RwmtRDw

Hmm. Sounds interesting. How does it work? Is it hardware heavy to host? Is it difficult to set up?

Take a look here: https://www.navidrome.org/ I have it self hosted in a Docker container, but you can install binaries for your machine. It's basically a server you can connect from all your devices and access your music in a central place (like Google Photos/Immich for your pics etc)

foobar 2000 with a playback statistics addon such as https://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_playcount https://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_enhanced_playcount

Last.fm with its scrobble feature is the best out there. It can be finicky sometimes, but if you keep on it and install the right apps like Finale it can work really well.
