I use TickTick and whenever I want to capture something for my inbox (to be organized later), the barrier of having to pull my phone out, unlock it, open TickTick, click the "+" and type it out is often enough to prevent me from capturing that thought. I tried using Siri but it doesn't integrate well with TickTick - or I just don't know how. What are your solutions?

Damn that’s just as big if not a bigger barrier for me. Often times I like to capture ideas while I’m driving and typing on my phone or writing in a notebook isn’t an option

I like that screenshot idea, thanks!

Notion. I use a simple notebook. Then use AI to sort and organize

Do you use the Notion AI? How is it?

I have this set up on my phone, too. Can also do it with Google tasks.

Does that app have a widget you can put on your phones desktop specifically just for adding 1 new item to your list? I use Trello 's widget to do just that. I type the item and hit send, and it saves and exits.

I have a separate notebook for capturing thoughts, planning and brainstorming called "General Notes", another for a daily diary, another for violin practice and a bunch of others for my various novels I hope to write one day, especially the one about the giant spider...

I use Siri with my Apple Watch to store ideas, tasks or anything really. I use a mix of notes (more for ideas and things to come back to) and reminders (for tasks which I will need to do at some point) Could you have a dump area in your phone, like your notes, where you add to during the day using Siri, and then organise it each day maybe in the morning or evening? It’s not a perfect solution but I find it’s better to get things noted down, I always feel like I’m carrying too much in my head when I don’t

I have set up my watch to do voice recordings that save in a particular folder that I can access on my laptop or phone. But once I set that up I never ended up actually using it. I don't use my phone much because of fine motor skill problems, but I've nearly always got my laptop open and nearby if I'm home. I use todoist and there's a global shortcut that'll add a task as long as the app is open in the background. So from anywhere, I press control+space and it opens up the 'add a new task' box.

Create a list on Google Keep called "to do list" Say "Hey Google, I have to fix the curtain rail. Please add to my to do list" Google adds "Fix the curtain rail" to the to do list in Keep

It sounds like you are having too many thoughts that you want to capture in the first place. I only get that I'm anxious, and doing brain dump - writing everything on a piece of paper - once a day often clears it out. It also makes me realize how many reduntant things there are, and that buying ketchup is really not that urgent.

I just write them down some people call it journaling

u/Due_Joke_2566

I myself need some help with that. I have typical ADHD, and I have used a lot of tools but nothing's hasn't been so helpful so far😅

i use voice notes first, then sort everything later

I use my Apple Watch to make Siri text myself because I have my own phone number as a contact. “Hey Siri text, MysteriousCat. Don’t forget that you need to buy new trash bags.”

For simple one time tasks i use google notes, for daily tasks i use done day habit tracker.

u/Anonymous_Rancher

Buy a journal and write in it.

Try a lock-screen widget that opens TickTick's quick-add field immediately.

I use Gmail Draft, if visual i am interested, i take a picture and mostly use Google Keep to capture the main theme or important words. Phone required :)
