How are you all finding people to interview when validating your idea?
Everyone keeps saying "just go talk to your users" like it's the easy part. Honestly the hard part is finding people to actually talk to in the first place, especially when you don't have a product yet and you're basically asking strangers for a favor. Right…
Everyone keeps saying "just go talk to your users" like it's the easy part. Honestly the hard part is finding people to actually talk to in the first place, especially when you don't have a product yet and you're basically asking strangers for a favor. Right now my process is cold DMing people, kind of begging in communities like this one, and occasionally paying for one of those User Interviews type panels, which feels way too expensive for something as early as just validating an idea. So I am building a platform - The idea is you book short calls with relevant target users and just talk through your idea, your designs, whatever you've got. It's got a Mom Test style question framework built in so you don't walk away with a bunch of polite "yeah I'd totally use that" answers that mean nothing. Before I sink more time into it though, I want to hear from you. How are you finding people to talk to right now? And what's the worst part of it for you, is it finding them, the back and forth of scheduling, or actually getting honest answers out of them once you're on the call? Not trying to pitch anything, genuinely just trying to build the right thing.

makes sense , would you use a platform to instantly get meets with your icp’s ? do you think a platform like this should genuinely exist?
Finding people can be such a slog, especially if you're starting from zero. I’ve had luck by tapping into niche forums or groups that already align with your target users; you’d be surprised how willing some people can be to share their thoughts if they feel connected to the space. Also, don’t underestimate the power of LinkedIn for reaching out—it can be a game changer if you craft a message that resonates with what they care about.
