I keep getting product ideas but i don’t want to start building every idea just to find out later that nobody wants it. So i’m thinking of building something where you enter your idea and it creates a temporary website specifically for testing it. it’s not just a waitlist builder. You won’t need to buy a domain, set up hosting or figure out deployment. the page can run on a hosted subdomain for 7, 14 or 30 days and then automatically expire. while it’s active, it would collect signups but also try to understand what visitors actually did. Things like how long they stayed, how far they scrolled, where they clicked, which sections they spent time on and where they left. we could also ask a few short questions to people who sign up and people who decide not to. When the test ends, you get a report showing what people were interested in, what they didn’t like or understand, common objections, signup conversion and whether the idea reached the goals you set before launching. Post your test window, you can export the leads and feedback. the page gets closed automatically and the collected personal data can also be deleted after some time. the whole point is that it’s a temporary experiment, not another website you have to maintain forever. I know landing page and waitlist tools already exist. what i’m trying to figure out is whether putting the whole process together i.e. page generation, hosting, feedback, visitor behaviour, automatic expiry and a final report would be useful. i haven’t built it yet. Building it for myself first, and later on i plan to let people use it for free for and later decide if i can monetize it or stop it altogether. would you use something like this to test an idea? and what would you expect it to tell you at the end?

how are you planning to get traffic onto these test pages? it changes what any of the numbers are worth. your own followers or a bit of paid promotion, those people opt into most things, they're not who you're building for. i'd want the report to tag each signup with its source so i can drop the ones that aren't my target, before the conversion rate talks me into something. not sure how you'd tell a curious follower from a real lead automatically though, short of just asking them
