I’m so sick of TV sticks saying they support the apps I want and then I buy them and they are impossible to do anything I want on them. Does anyone know a good android TV stick that Jellyfin and Tailscale can be installed on by default and I don’t have to log into some account or setup developer mode and do a bunch of other annoying shit. Let me know.

Honestly this might be the last thing to do that is guaranteed to work.
If you get a Mini PC instead of a Pi you can run Plex HTPC. It runs on Linux or Windows. https://support.plex.tv/articles/htpc-getting-started/
TBH I got tired of all the different TV sticks that try to push toward their ecosystem so I just ended up using a Raspberry Pi and installing my own stuff. If you want something that can do third party apps, you can install something like Kodi that can integrate with Jellyfin/Plex and a myriad of other stuff.
I use an Onn 4k Pro 2026 version and all I needed to login to Tailscale was qr code. It was easy to set up with my phone. It took a little longer to set up Jellyfin since I had to type in the address and then log in with my phone to my user account. You shouldn't need developer mode for anything.
