So, I self-host AIOStreams. I want to share it with my family and my friends. But i'm afraid that they gonna share it with someone else or accidentally leave it used on other device and other people keep using it. I know the best way to keep it from abuse is to not share it at all or share it with someone who really understand the risk and can keep it to himself. But sharing is caring right?? I think limiting 1 IP at a time for 1 user will solve this problem. I read this doc (https://docs.aiostreams.viren070.me/configuration/environment-variables/) and wondering the admin dashboard. but i don't know which setting that can achieve my goal. And than this cross my mind. since AIOStreams generate manifest url with https://aiostream.example.com/stremio/<UUID>/.... format. Can i just set the limit at network level? I ask ChatGPT that would be possible with OpenResty. But i don't quite understand what it saying, and it's sound quite complicated.

I see, thats the psychological way to solve this. But it limits the user ability of customization and experimenting with the app. I’m using direct stream. Proxy gave too much burden to my cheap old laptop server
That's pretty much all we have unfortunately. Outside of these ideas being acceptable, you probably find yourself at the point where there's a dawning realisation that technical solutions are not necessarily always the right way to solve personal issues. And if you don't trust your peeps, don't share with those peeps might be the way to go.

TBH if you set the accounts up with AIOSreams for them and you remove the edit functionality from the addon config they're unlikely to go scavenging about and find out how to share it with anyone else. And if you have the creds of any account using it you can kick any sessions logged in where it should be from the Stremio site. Those 'extra' logins would be visible in the AIOStreams dash should you be using it to proxy playback, or just in Stremio site directly.
Isolate the service on its own subnet, setup a split tunnel VPN, ideally at the boundary, and then you can limit the allowed IP list and configure the specific public keys (from allowed peers) to access only that service.
IPs are by default not logged or processed for the kind of purpose you are looking into
