I get traffic from various parts of the world, and I want to completely blocked them off because I feel that those are useless or bots. I get traffic from Africa/Asia/Australia/US when I just sell in Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. I wonder how they even come across my website anyways? I found app, but it is paid so I was wondering if there was any other app. Thanks

Connect your domain into cloudflare and then set up custom rules to prevent any unwanted traffic and requests before they reach to your website.

Blaze blocker

Hey, as suggested i did and guess what it simply doesn’t work! The block rule is active and still visitors from those countries have no problem entering my website. https://www.reddit.com/r/shopify/s/ZzG8kpv5Wt

Shopify Markets has built-in country/region controls in Settings > Markets - you can restrict which regions can even see your storefront without needing a separate app for basic geo-blocking. That said, worth checking your analytics first - a lot of that "traffic" from random countries is bot/crawler noise, not real visitors, so blocking might not move the needle much on conversions either way.

Yes blockify works great and you can go to blocking certain IP / email or other specifics from checking out

No shopify doesn’t restrict anyone atleast on my store. I see people from everywhere around the world brazil, Australia, canada, siberia, china just to name a few

That is not a working solution; Shopify does not block visitors from any country even if you have defined markets for those countries.

It's important to know that Shopify runs on CloudFlare, so if you connect your domain to CloudFlare, you have to switch off proxying. And that will remove all the features you need to stop traffic from certain parts of the world

Cloudflare would settle this for you pretty straightforwardly without any need to pay and out of curiosity, what’s the name of the paid app that was mentioned to you? I wonder if it offers anything specially different

u/Decent_Plane_2498

you should Block at domain level before it even hit shopify

When connecting to cloudflare, will my website be “offline” during the switchover?

u/polymorphiced

I'm not sure why you're concerned, but consider: People in your service countries that are actually using VPNs Are on holiday Are purchasing gifts Are talking to international family/friends about your products

Would this stop your website being crawled? I get a lot of traffic from Iowa and it’s supposedly due to a Google data center that Shopify uses? (Unsure if I’ve explained this correctly)

I use blockify, I make my own product and I use it to prevent IP theft, just pay for an app and forget about it.

What do you want to do this exactly, u/Confusedmind75 other than because you feel they’re useless or bots?
