How are people doing “pick any 4” without making 300 fake products?

This feels like such a dumb Shopify problem. I want one product page where customer can pick any 4 items from a small collection. Not a fixed bundle. Not buy 2 save 10%. Just: pick 4 soaps or pick 4 sauces or pick 4 mini products or pick 4 candle scents I do…

This feels like such a dumb Shopify problem. I want one product page where customer can pick any 4 items from a small collection. Not a fixed bundle. Not buy 2 save 10%. Just: pick 4 soaps or pick 4 sauces or pick 4 mini products or pick 4 candle scents I do not want to create every possible combo as products or variants. That sounds insane. I found FoxSell and it looks like it handles this as an actual build-your-own bundle, where the picked items still stay tied to inventory. Is that the normal way people do this? Or is there some simple Shopify setup I'm missing?

Isn’t the Shopify Bundle app exactly for this use case?

Yeah this is where people over-hack Shopify and then blame Shopify later

300 fake products is how you end up hating your own store

For a fixed pack, native is fine. For "customer picks the contents," I would not try to be clever.

I'd test the offer manually first if you're not sure people want it. But once people actually want to pick, FoxSell is the right kind of tool. It is not a random upsell block. It is made for the box-builder style flow

One small thing: think about duplicate choices. Can they pick the same soap 4 times? Can they pick 2 of one and 2 of another? A lot of setups break because they assume every choice is unique.

You can simply do it with js, shopify ajax api do support dynamic bundles

Is there not a coupon option where if they add four of a category to their basket a discount is applied? I'm just guessing as I'm on WooCommerce ha ha, but that's how I'd do it there and surely there's an option like that on Shopify.

Create a Discount code that allows them to get the benefit only if any of the 4 products you specify are added to their cart. Only thing you need to figure out maybe with Ai , even, is to display the products on the same product page for them to pick.

Buy a Claude subscription for a month and you can make a product picker yourself or pay me to do it
