What’s the best thermal label printer for automated shipping?

Hey everyone, I’m trying to improve my shipping workflow and was wondering how others are handling this. Right now I create UPS labels through the UPS eCommerce portal after an order comes in from Shopify. What I’d like is for the process to be as hands-off as possible. My ideal workflow would be: - Create the label in the UPS portal. - The shipping label prints automatically to a label printer. - If a commercial invoice is generated, that prints automatically to a regular A4 printer or the same printer would be great! - No extra clicks, no opening PDFs and hitting Print every time. We’re a small business, so we’re only shipping around 1–5 packages a day. (But growing) Because of that I’m not looking for an expensive warehouse setup or enterprise hardware. Budget max of around 400-500$ I’m mostly wondering: - What label printer are you using? (Rollo, Munbyn, Brother, something else?) - Has anyone automated printing from the UPS eCommerce portal? - Did you use UPS APIs, browser automation, PDF watching, or another approach? - If you were starting from scratch today, what would you buy and how would you build it? I’m a Python developer, so I’m happy to write some automation if that’s the best route. I’m just trying to avoid buying the wrong hardware or overengineering it. Would love to hear what setups are actually working for people.

I ship straight from the Shopify order page with a Rollo printer. The packing list prints at the same time. Similar volume to you—1-5 orders/day and 30+ after a newsletter
which zebra model :) ?
Which model if I might ask :D
Might I ask which Rollo model :)

I’ve got an Ethernet equipped Brother TDN series, my day-job retired it and it makes a great fit for AusPost labels :)
I'm in Australia so can't help with the ups stuff... But I purchased a zebra thermal label printer 6 years ago and the thing just works. Before that I had DYMO with their damn DRM labels which cost a fortune. The DYMO was a big mistake.
I use a used Zebra UPS printer for my 4x6 thermal labels
My $80 thermal printer from Amazon has lasted me 3 years with 6000 labels printed.
I've been using the same Zebra LP 2844 (refurbished) since I started my business in 2012 lol I'm at 15000 orders with our latest website which we migrated to in 2020. I have no idea how many we did in the years prior. It's a workhorse for sure.
I have the Rollo Wireless in our warehouse and the USB at home. The wireless is so much easier to setup and maintain. Highly recommend. I use it with Shopify to print labels, as well as Rolo's own shipping app for our wholesale orders.
Zebra Zt series are what we use for 50+k labels a year. Auto print is software. I love shipstation.
I love my usb brother with 4x6 continuous sheet label roll. I got it on eBay and it’s rock solid.
Rollo by far. And then you can use any 4x6 thermal label, you're not tied to a label brand.
I use rollo it’s pretty good
