Does anyone make a sleek soffit security/motion light that points forward?
I want a very bright motion light(s) over the garage door that points down the driveway. But I don't want the typical hillbilly bug eyed ugly motion light. Doesn't anybody make a light where you can remove your downward pointing recessed cans (leaving a hole)…
I want a very bright motion light(s) over the garage door that points down the driveway. But I don't want the typical hillbilly bug eyed ugly motion light. Doesn't anybody make a light where you can remove your downward pointing recessed cans (leaving a hole) and install a sleek unobtrusive light that points forward? Something wedge shaped with the front of the wedge containing the light and sensor that only drops down 2 or 3 inches. I've looked all over the interwebs and have asked AI, but AI can only find ridiculous looking bug eyed lights, or stuff to mount to the wall where you gotta bust out your stucco and make a mess on top of the ugly look.

not sure if they can be operated independently? but security camera systems have some sleek cameras w/lights that are motion detecting Try Reolink
I do this with Lutron Caseta, and other brands work too, but you can swap in a retro-fit flood light and swap the wall switch with a smart switch. Tie it in with a battery-powered motion detector and put that wherever you want it. With a smart switch you can just use whatever light you want. Also there are steerable retro-fit recessed LED lights. They just plug-and-play and you can point them where you want. Take 5 minutes to swap out.
I have not seen many that are built exactly like that, but you might have better luck looking at commercial style soffit lights instead of typical residential motion lights. they tend to be lot cleaner looking.
What's your thing with Bug Eyed hillbillies? I think I may be triggered by that comment. (no not really). As for 'sleek' is in the eye (bug eye) of the beholder, It may be best to physically visit the big box stores and compare. Take measurements of anything that looks like it is close and use those measurements to compare to products you may find online. (light output too)
