Is there a way to automate background restriction for messaging apps? For example, when you don't have internet access, these apps won't be consuming resources in the background for free. Do you mean you don't have mobile data? Or is it a wifi network that cuts out? Samsung has a built in tool that makes apps only connect to either WiFi or mobile data and not both in Connections > Data usage > Allowed networks for apps

Whichever one it is, I already activated it so it was only Wi-Fi, But when I disconnect the internet, the apps keep running in the background, and that doesn't make sense; without the internet, they're useless.
