Is anyone aware of an app that tracks your EV charging similar to apps that track ICE fueling and mileage? I haven't found one. Basically, you would use the app to record each charging session, including vehicle mileage, kwh charged, charging time and cost, and maybe location and type of charger. The app could then provide with a historical record of your charging, including kwh/mile over a period of time, locations of best/lowest cost chargers, average time to charge, and other potentially relevant data.

Seconding tessie, and can recommend teslamate if you want to self-host!

I’ve done this with a simple Excel spreadsheet. I also track calculated full charge range, cost per kWh, comparative cost of gas, average daily temperature, EVSE consumption versus vehicle reported charge increase, and a few other useful tidbits. The spreadsheet also includes plots of mi/kWh versus date, temperature, etc. with curves fit to the data and correlation coefficient. It took about 30 minutes to set up and one minute to enter each charging session.

Thanks, I wasn't aware of this. Play store didn't show it.

Nissan Ariya or VW ID4

That would be great. Does it run on Android? Does it have an input form? I think these things would be handy for those not well versed in Excel.

I did not know this. Just one more paid membership.

Fuelio. Supports gasoline and dual fuel (PHEV) as well https://ibb.co/Mkw8SqTZ https://ibb.co/wr3Yx5nd https://ibb.co/KjMX2MYS https://ibb.co/8Gb39FP

Tessie for Teslas

I use Drivvo. I have been using it with ice card and they fully support electric. It was poorly implemented when I first got my EV but they updated it and its awesome now. Only downside is I do a lot of level 1 charging with an unmetered evse.

For my Rivian I use Rivian Roamer which tracks pretty much everything about the car (trips, charging, etc). Look for a similar app for your brand. If your brand doesn't expose APIs to collect that data you might have to do it manually unfortunately

If you have tesla, the app will already record it

Which car?

The ABRP app with a premium membership does this.

I track everything through https://www.teslafi.com but Tesla has fleet access so you can have it record automatically, you don't have to enter it manually

People are being so dismissive, if you don't have an answer, move on. Where the hell else is the OP supposed to look? This is a relevant forum for the question! Look, I've used Fuelly for years to track all my ICE vehicle data. Fuel consumption, yes, but also service records. A quick look at it gives me: total miles tracked, total fuel cost, total gallons, total service logs, # fuel logs, avg MPG, Last MPG, Best MPG, a graph of fuel efficiency over time, avg price/gallon, avg fuel up cost, avg price per mile, maintenance reminders. I can then go into the logs and see all the details and even notes I added. Now, Fuelly doesn't have provisions for EVs. Bummer. Like the OP, I'd like an app I can use that will track most of this stuff for an EV. I want to compare it to the ICE vehicles that remain in my fleet. I want to know what I've spent in electricity over time and I want a total cost of ownership like I easily get in Fuelly for ALL MY OTHER VEHICLES. I use the factory supplied Level 2 charger, so that means I don't have a special app that gives an abundance of data - sometimes the charging session simply don't appear in the manufacturer's app. But even if I did have the info in there, it wouldn't be in the same place as all my other vehicle data. I keep spreadsheets for a lot of stuff, but a spreadsheet is NOWHERE near as easy to use on a mobile device as an app like Fuelly.

The My Chevy app tracks it automatically. My emporia charger does the same.

what I did with my ICE... photo of the dash for mileage and photo of the fuel pump display when I finished. Phone saves time and location with the pictures. If wanted, I could have quite easily filled an excel with that data. I never got around that but I do have a LOT of pictures. My employer reimbursed for work related driving, so I kept records just in case. I never needed them tho.

Cadillac records it for 6 months

" locations of best/lowest cost chargers" With dynamic pricing that is not very trackable.

u/ComeBackSquid

The BMW and Tesla apps already do this for you. Maybe other brands, too.

u/Bowthewow

I use an Emporia charger and breaks down costs and kWh used for each charging session on or off peak. Then breaks down your usage per week/month.

I use the Tronity app.

u/LeoAlioth

Tronity works with most brands

I used Microsoft Excel but stopped after a couple of years.

self hosted teslamate software. Records tons of things
