So I recently got my self hosted setup remote and I've been expanding. On my raspberry pi I have traefik, pihole, and Crowd-Sec and on my mini pc I have my applications. There's more to it but I do a reverse proxy. Right now I am self hosting immich, jellyfin, audiobookshelf, Joplin, and seerr. I did have home assistant but haven't had time to set that up. My issue - I'm having trouble finding apps that are simple and clean for notes and tasks. They can be seperate apps. I used to use Google tasks and notes. I don't care for markdown or anything of that sort. Just want to be able to set recurring tasks/reminders and someplace to put some stupid brain dumps. I tried nextcloud but didn't like the apps. Tried obsidian but wasn't the biggest fan of the app. Right now I'm using Joplin and its fine but I feel like there has so be some setup I can do that has a nice ui for notes and tasks. I don't care if I have to dump Joplin. Ideally, open source if possible. I feel like I must be missing something! Just a clean, simple UI, easy to use app with basic features for tasks and/or notes. Any help would be awesome! Also if you have anything I could add to my self hosted collection on top of what I have now let me know! Always looking for new things

How do you sync the obsidian file on android out of your device?

im looking at setting up an anytype server to replace notion for notes.

I am currently using Outline for notes. Simple, polished and with a good mobile ui. I also like the MCP Server, which I use to shape my brain dumps into something usable. For tasks, I am using vikunja. It can be used in a very simple way. Tasks, due date, reccuring. It has many features for organization, prioritization and working as a team which you may not use.

Deploy a Baikal server, it will give you calendar (CalDAV) and tasks (vtodo). This is the server and has no interface. For WebUI use Calino (both calendar and tasks) and Tasks.org Android app. Calino has an app, but I do not use, so I cannot recommend. For simples note (google notes style), go it Anchor

i started using donetick and it's pretty nice for repetitive tasks, not so much for notes tho. I am trying to use RAG on my llm server for notes on network/devices/and the like nowadays. but it may not work w every types of notes as you have to query specific things.

I use tududi combined with claude-code and i am very very happy with it!

Usa Tilium para notas y Planka para tareas y demás. Además ambas puedes montar un mcp y que te ayude la IA

Take a look at Trilium for your notes ( https://triliumnotes.org/ ) I have yet to find a Tasks app yet myself, I am going to look a Tududi and Vikunja.

I use Ignis as a Obsidian in the web

Obsidian (with livesync plugin to selfhosted couchdb) for notes. Vikunja for tasks - you can test around in its demo page https://try.vikunja.io - i cant recommend it enough
