Friendly gui for mail?
Does anyone recommend an easy to use gui for email? Currently on purelymail and their roudncube interface isn't great - search is painfully slow and the gui could use a lick of paint. Want to self host - is there anything you'd recommend? Currently looking at…

Want to self host - is there anything you'd recommend? Currently looking at mailpile, snappymail etc. all don't seem to be actively maintained though

Does it work with Gmail and other Mail companies or do you need to run your own mail server with it?
the person below is right that roundcube itself isn't doing the searching, it just sends an IMAP SEARCH and waits. so slow search is almost always the mailbox side having no full-text index, noyeah this is it exactly. slow search is almost always the mailbox side having no full-text index, not the webclient being bad. dovecot has fts plugins (xapian or flatcurve are the current ones, solr's more setup than it's worth for a small mailbox) that index the mail store and make search near instant regardless of which gui sits in front of it. You can configure jmap for your iwn stalwart server or smtp and imap for any other mail provider.
What about Mailflow?
That's bulwark. I use stalwart as mailserver and bulwark as my web based mail client with jmap support 👍
Which mailflow? .cc .sh or .io ? The .sh one Looks very vibe voded with starting in Version 1.9.0 in April...
I think you already have Most on your list, only sogo is Missing . And honorable mention would be "jmap-webmail" IF your Mailserver Supports JMAP protocol.
I am using Mailflow and and I REALLY like it so far!

Take a look at bulwark, a web based mail client.

AFAIK roundcube uses the server to search, it doesn't search itself. So if the server is slow then any mail app you use will have this problem. You may want to look for an app that indexes messages locally.
