I've always struggled with phone/social media addiction and never got real results from classic screen time apps. Thinking about a system where you set a daily limit and an amount you're willing to lose (2-5€) if you go over money goes to charity instead of just disappearing. Could also work as a challenge with friends, where whoever stays under the limit wins the others' money. Do you think something like this could actually work for you? Would losing real money change your behavior, or would the novelty wear off after a week like most habit trackers? Thanks you!

Most people will not be willing to put money on this most are not that motivated and/or not that trusting. There’s no way for them to see it’s actually going to charity either. You’re also going to risk a lot of problems when people forget to cancel the charges or something. This has been tried already and is very unlikely to work
