We have been using our Chase Ink Business Preferred card for our cell phone bill for the past year or so due to it having cell phone protection of up to $1000 per claim with a $100 deductible at 3X the points per dollar. My wife and I both have iPhone 17 Pro models with Verizon that currently have 25 payments remaining on a promotional trade in program where we are reimbursed the monthly charge each month. Our monthly bill is roughly $212 for four lines. With that being said, we also hold the Chase Ink Business Cash card which would yield us 5X points per dollar on Cell Phone plans, but does not offer cell phone protection. Would it be foolish to switch our bill to the Chase Ink Business Cash for the extra 2X points on Cell Phone plans, but have no insurance protection? I appreciate any input on this.

You’re better off using the card with the insurance. All it takes is one broken phone….

That’s what I’m leaning towards. Keeping it on that card.

Personally I would value the protection over the extra ~5,000 points every year.

I think the protection is more important if you are concerned with theft or damage. I don’t know if Chase is the only option you’re considering but the US bank cash plus offers both cell phone protection and 5% cash back on cell phone providers for no annual fee. Well Fargo autograph does the same as well but it’s 3x points
