Anyone have a really good one? Please mention an income range you’re in and how often the cards used in order to reap the benefits. That way someone else in a similar bracket can get an estimate of what to expect. I’m trying to find something better than a flat 2% cashback card. I have an Amex no fee airline card but it ended up not being worth using.

$0 AF airline cards are generally never worthwhile. Same with $0 AF hotel cards. At best they can have decent SUBs and some small ancillary benefits for casual travellers, but if you’re serious about committing to some airline or hotel then you’ll typically want an annual fee offering As far as cards that can fulfill the role of a catch-all but which are a bit more interesting than 2% cash back catch-alls: Capital One Venture X ($395 annual fee): Unlimited 2x Capital One Miles on all purchases Bank of America Premium Rewards Elite ($550 annual fee): Unlimited 3x dining & travel, and 2.25x all other purchases with $100k+ in assets with BofA/Merrill, 3.5x travel/dining and 2.625x all else with $1M+, points redeemable for 1.25x value on travel portal Bilt Palladium ($495 annual fee): 3.33x Bilt Rewards points on all purchases up to a cap determined by monthly rent/mortgage, or 3x with Point Accelerator up to $15k/year spend, unlimited 2x afterwards Bank of America Atmos Rewards Summit ($395 annual fee): Unlimited 3x Atmos Rewards points on all foreign transactions, 3x on dining worldwide and on Alaska/Hawaiian Airlines, and 3x up to $50k/year on rent charged via the Bilt portal, also earns status and has companion awards for hitting spend thresholds AmEx Hilton Honors Surpass ($150 annual fee): Unlimited 6x Hilton Honors points on U.S. supermarkets, U.S. restaurants, and U.S. gas stations, 4x on U.S. online retail, and 3x on all other transactions - Hilton points are very low value, so the real mainstay is the uncapped free night award for hitting $15k spend each year on the card Chase World of Hyatt ($95 annual fee): 2x on restaurants, airlines, transit, and fitness, 1x everything else, similar $15k spend free night award mechanic as the Hilton Honors but the hotel night cost is not uncapped, however Hyatt points are far higher value Robinhood Gold ($50 annual membership fee): Unlimited 3% cash back on most purchases Fairwinds Visa Signature ($95 annual fee): Unlimited 5x travel and theme parks, 3x dining, and 2x everything else, points redeemable for 1.5x value via the travel portal These cards all have strong purchase and travel protections and various annual credits and benefits to compensate for the annual fee. The only one with a foreign transaction fee is the Robinhood Gold as an unfortunate recent nerf.

If you want something that you don’t have to worry about any categories, point expiration, or loyalty programs get the Fidelity Signature card. 2% back on every purchase and it’s just simple.

I sm a wamart + member l get 5 percent cashback on all purchases from Walmart using one pay. No limit. If you not a walmart shopper, triple A also does 5 percent but its specifically for groceries.

+1 to everyone vouching for the Palladium here. Best catch-all card in the market, with great points boost if you pay rent or mortgage on it, not to mention the unique points accelerator feature!
