My PC doesn't run the same FPS as the benchmarks online

Sorry if this is the wrong thread to post in but, is this normal? I have a 5070TI, i7-12700k, 32GB of DDR4 3200Mhz, everything is plugged in correctly, but I see people with worse specs getting higher fps, and benchmarks online say I should be getting way higher than my 200-300fps for games like Valorant and CS2, I've updated everything I can, and tweaked with settings and my fps just doesn't go up. Is there something I'm missing?

Are you running the same OS? 3200mhz is pretty slow for that setup, and will be dragging performance down. Intel CPUs work better with higher speed ram. Are you running the same version of all the involved programs as the benchmarks? Do you have additional programs running in the background? Are you using the same resolution and settings as the benchmarks, exactly?
Yes same OS, I assume it's the latest version of the game for the benchmarks which I am running, I am running Discord in the background, I switched around my res and all my settings are as low as can be, but fps didn't change much if any at all, it spikes when I'm looking at a wall and nothings happening to over 400 but when moving around it will drop to an average of 200
Like overclocking the ram past 3200MHz? I just have XMP on and thought that would be enough. I swear I have some friends who run like 500fps with a worse AMD CPU, though recently saw that someone mentioned CS2 runs better on AMD so maybe that's why
same CPU, not sure what RAM they r using though
Interesting, I doubt ram would make a significant difference. More likely cpu clock speed or perhaps windows update broke something. You ever do a benchmark like 3dmark and see if your scores are normal?
I don't think I'm overclocking my RAM, would that be beneficial? I'm just using XMP and letting it be. I am using the latest nvidia driver, but yea i guess the benchmark could be using a different version, I wouldn't know though I don't think my fps would change all that much from my GPU on games like CS and Val. I didn't think my case, motherboard, psu, etc would matter, my temps are all around 35-50, ambient temp is around 70 F. I'll try removing all background apps and seeing if that changes anything, I've already tried lowering all settings and that doesn't affect my fps by much. I do understand that my fps will lower when more things are happening, but I have friends with similar or worse setups than me and they get higher frames in the same scenarios, so I assume I've messed something else up or as you said, some of my hardware is faulty. Though my conclusion is to either upgrade my CPU or just leave it be and play at lower frames, I can't tell if I'm really being held back by my CPU or I'm just missing something but I just thought it was weird I'm getting such inconsistent fps when my friends are fine.
Based off your reply, seems like you know what you are doing. When you say using XMP, are you 100% sure you have done it correctly? I know this won't make you feel too good. I built my brother a 3060 Ti with a 5600 Ryzen 5 CPU and he had 16GB DDR4 at 3200 Mhz and he was getting double your FPS. You either are doing something wrong or you have an issue. I wouldn't upgrade the CPU if I were you. I would consider AMD. Also are you using a water cooler for the CPU or air cooler? How long have you had it? Who pasted it? Does your CPU make good contact? Maybe you need one of those contact frames? There's just so many things that could be an issue.
3200 is not slow for ddr4 don't listen to him
You're most likely being limited by the slow ram, then.
Call me crazy, but which benchmarks are you watching that have identicle specs? Are you sure you overclocked the RAM, correctly? Some of those benchmarks could be done using separate drives. Also there is a possibility your computer may be using resources for other background apps, updates, maybe even malware or a virus. There is also GPU drivers, them benchmarks may be set with a different driver version. Some drivers are bad, or should I say, not the same. But all of these are just a few things that may be different. You forgot to mention your PC Case, PSU, Motherboard, temperatures, SSD, ambient temperature... There are many factors to consider. I know I have great silicon in my GPU, but I will never have the best 3080 in the world, that's because I didn't use liquid nitrogen when benchmarking. There is one more thing we have to consider. Assuming none of the above scenarios apply, assuming you are a PC whizkid genius. Some of your hardware may be faulty. Of course your FPS will drop during heavy details on screen. Just because I can hit 700 FPS inside a little room, doesn't mean I can hit 700 outside wirh multiple players on screen, it'll drop way low for everybody. Turn all settings on lowest, if you are still getting low FPS then you can rule out in game settings. You still have 10+ other things that need checking... Close all other apps booting on startup. Nothing else running in the background, no discord, nothing, absolutely nothing at all except MSI Afterburner. Sorry I can't actually help further. I don't play FPS games and I've always hit my max FPS, except in AAA games. I use undervolt and overclock profiles, and it took me weeks to find a nice stable setting where I hit my absolute max on benchmarks without crashing, and then better than stock settings whilst using 100W under stock power draw.
I have similar setup (3070 ti instead of 5070 Ti)... FPS have always been slightly lower on CPU bound games like Valorant and CS2. You could try upping your ram frequency whilst keeping the timings tight for the tiny bit extra bump but it's not usually anything significant. It was also my first disappointment when I got the same processor build (non-K), but it excels in everything else more or less. For CPU bound games, Higher L3 caches will give u significant boost in FPS.
Do the benchmarks with worse specs have a better cpu or ram perhaps? That's most important for the games you listed. Valo/cs is trivial for the 5070ti, it's going to be waiting on the cpu most of the time.
Same settings?
post gpu-z screenshot for us please
One thing I can definitely say, is that you are CPU limited. When you ask about benchmarks you have to tell us the specific one and what component you are benchmarking. CPU and GPU benchmarks measure different things. If you're talking about max FPS when gaming, that's different than something like Cinebench or 3DMark. The 12700k will limit a 5070ti so you're most likely looking at scenarios utilizing a more powerful CPU.
Get better cooling and make sure you have actually tuned things properly
My hot take, do you have a bunch of apps downloaded that auto launch in the background or are running while your playing games? That could significantly slow down your system, also do you have any antivirus software installed. Most antivirus softwares really slow down your PC and aren't good for anything, the only mostly good anti-virus I can say from the top of my head would be ESET.
