Blomberg dishwasher DW55502FBI I can't find and repair information for this thing. When I open the door, it just falls to the floor and slams, so I have to manually lower it down. I tried asking Gemini for help, including with images, but it is not helpful. I can see a cord when looking carefully through the cracks there behind the visible hinge, but I have no idea how to open this up to gain access to that stuff to see what is wrong. Gemini did say it's likely falling because the cord has come off, the cord has snapped, or a spring has broken, which is probably legitimate, but I can't figure out how to gain access to this area to figure out what is wrong. Anyone know what to do? I can't find any specific information for this dishwasher online to help me and there's nothing in the installation or user manual about this that I can find. Edit: I read the installation manual again and found some screws that adjust the tension weight of the door. It hasn't completely solved the problem, but at least now the door doesn't free fall to the floor as soon as I crack it open

You are probably going to have to uninstall it and adjust from the sides or you need to take off the kickplate cover and there will be a way to adjust from the front.

There is no kick plate and I see no way to adjust it from the front. I have the dishwasher pulled out, and I see no way of accessing these parts. Do I need to fully remove the outer metal shell?? Is the red circled thing maybe where the cord is supposed to be hooked on?

Good catch. Such a strange spot for it to be.

Yeah I'm glad I saw it in the manual finally. I did read it before but I must have missed it. My dishwasher is extremely annoying to get out from under the counter. When it's raised up so it's level with the existing cabinet doors, it's raised too high up to get it out from under the counter. The flooring goes until just behind the bottom cabinet kick plate, and the dishwasher sits past that directly on the floor. So I have to literally screw in the adjustment legs all the way in, front and back, to have enough clearance to lift the machine up over the edge of the flooring tiles without getting caught up on the edge of the counter top trim above it. In the end I didn't even need to do any of that, but at least now I know 😂

Tension adjustment screw. There's one on each side.

To figure out what went wrong you need to pull the machine at least partway out from under the counter. Doing this varies by the way it was fixed in place. Typically you need to remove the kick plate underneath, this keeps from catching on any lip in the flooring in case the machine doesn't have flooring extended underneath. You may also need to lower the front feet, just check the installation manual for instructions. There should be screws inserted laterally into the cabinet. There's plastic caps that you will see if you look down the inside wall set just a bit back from the front edge. Just pop the caps and look for screw heads (some installers skip this). Then look up under the counter for any brackets holding the machine and remove any screws you see. Then pull out the machine until you can see the cords and springs along each side. It should be obvious if anything is broken, otherwise it's possible that it could have just come loose for some reason. I couldn't find a service manual online, so I don't know how they are specifically mounted. Reattach or order replacements as needed.
