I have a 2006 honda accord 2.4. Bought it about a month ago. Engine light came on during a rain storm, got the code p2422. I checked that everything was connected to the evap canister and checked wiring for the vent valve. Cleared the code and drove for 2 weeks, no issues filling it with gas. Then today I was driving in another rain storm and the engine light came back on p2422. I just want some insight on how to diagnose what the problem is because I don't want to start throwing parts at it. Thanks

Thank you, I was reading through some honda tsbs and one mentions the vent valve filter/drain tube getting clogged triggering the p2422 code. Surprisingly no other typical honda issues, ac works, power locks and windows work, no oil consumption or powersteering leaks lol.

rain and evap codes on an old honda is practically a love story at this point, check the vent valve filter if yours has one, they get clogged with road grime and hold moisture like a sponge

Causes and signs: Valve jamming: water or water is leaking into the middle of the ventilation solenoid. Wiring: broken rods or corrosion in the sensor connector.
