Does a manual expense tracking app have potential in the age of ai and automation?

As it will be manual work. Not completely manual though, there will be a voice feature, where at the end of the day you just say all your expenses and ai parses them into expenses in categories. You can also take pictures of your receipt and AI breaks that down too. Do you think this might be a good app idea?

There are literally hundreds if not thousands of these, what makes your solution unique?

Nothing. But does an app have to be unique to be successful? Because there will always be similar, if not same apps with different designs. So, what truly makes an app successful?

Idk, but you didn't convince me to download it for sure. So not sure how you are going to convince others. You either have amazing marketing skills, or have unique features.

Interesting. Why do you think a to-do might be a good fit in a app like this?

That's actually a great idea. Thank you

Haha. Okay XD

There aren’t many out there - todo apps and habit trackers is an famously underserved app category - definitely worth a look if you have time.

todo integration makes sense because expense tracking and spending decisions are almost always tied to a task, not a category. like "pay rent" isn't just an expense category, it's an action item with a due date. same with subscriptions renewing, bills coming up, whatever. right now most people track that stuff in two separate places, a calendar/todo app for the "do this" and a finance app for the "log this after." if you can close that loop, the expense gets logged automatically when the task gets marked done, or the task gets created automatically when a recurring expense is detected, that's actually saving people a step instead of adding one. the failure mode to watch for is scope creep though, todo apps are their own brutal category with their own graveyard, and bolting two hard problems together doesn't make either one easier. i'd test it narrow first, just recurring bills as todos, not a full task manager, and see if people actually use that link before building out more.

Brother, let me save you some time. Don’t.

If you can integrate a todo app into this, you’re onto a winner
