I wanted to track a Gyarados master set and no app would let me, so I built a free one where every printing gets its own entry, image, and price: cardnDEX.com

No single app can tell you how many Gyarados cards exist. Same for any other Pokémon you'd want to chase. I was about forty cards deep before it hit me that I didn't know what I was still missing. Everything I found contradicted everything else. I spent weeks on a spreadsheet and it just sucked. I couldn't tell some of the printings apart. Making a list I could actually show a vendor was impossible. And I couldn't answer the one question that actually matters at a show: I've got a hundred bucks, what am I looking for today. So I said fuck it, I'll build the site I wanted to exist. So that's nDEX. Every unique printing has its own slot to track. Shadowless and unlimited aren't the same card, so they don't share an image or a price. You can build whatever set you want, official or not, and you can hide the printings you don't chase, so a set looks the way you actually collect it. Card values are the other piece. I'm checking eBay solds at a show anyway, so that's what nDEX leads with. It shows what actually sold and what it's listed at, separately. When nothing's sold recently it says so instead of inventing a number. Scanning works the same way, point your phone at a card and it tells you which printing you're holding, not just which card. It's free. The only thing I plan to charge for is more scanning, since every scan costs me money. No paid tier while it's in beta. Try it and tell me what breaks. I'm one guy with one collection, so the things I'd never run into are exactly what I need to hear about. It's English only right now. Japanese is coming, along with sealed product and a way to import from other trackers.
